I’m not sure what it is, so in the next few days, I’m going to go through everything… changing my spark plugs, cleaning my air cleaner, changing oil, do a compression test and leak-down test… is there a new engine in my near future? Maybe… or maybe I will just build this one… There’s going to be a private drift event that I want to make on Nov 16, and another SpeedTrial USA event in early December. I NEED to make these events… In other news, Nadine’s birthday is coming up!! We’ll be doing all kinds of fun stuff, so all this car junk is going to have to wait. Have you guys checked out the JIC website? JIC sucks!!!! BTW, in all my efforts to make a lip spoiler that stands up to the harshness of urban driving, it fell off yesterday. and i ran over it. But it’s still in one piece! Hahahah! Good job SileightyMania SPL.

So I’m not sure what I’m gonna do now… I have to be very careful when I drive over bumps… on public streets and the race track. I’ve been thinking about drifting a lot recently… and I’ve been thinking that it’s kinda hard to get good when our drifting events are so scarce… and even when we do, we are limited to the things we can do. I really want to learn manji… and as with the way our events are organized right now it makes it really hard to learn – because they won’t let us try! I’m going to try to organize an event of my own soon… something for just my friends and I. I should be able to learn a lot of things that way I hope. Well, keep it off the streets guys! BTW, that reminds me… I really need to improve on the grip aspect of racing. I’ve really not practiced in a long time. Time to go to some auto-x and road racing events.

I was on my way to get a new cell phone… and then I heard this nasty metal grinding sound. My powersteering was gone. I brought my car to Cartune right after work so I could check it out and see where all my powersteering fluid went. There’s a hard line coming from the fluid return lines… for some reason it goes down from the reservoir to the front of the oil pan and continues to the passenger side of the car and just wraps back the other way to where it starts and turns towards the steering rack. Anyway, thats the line that busted open… right in front of my oil pan. So now that it’s fixed, I’ll take some Nismo engine mounts and transmission mount to go please… I can’t wait until the next track event… after watching that Hawaii drift video, I’ve realized that I want to practice a lot more… I’ve been slacking off!

I missed the last drift event for personal reasons… and then I saw pictures from Battle Version’s Drift Clinic held in Hawaii with Signal Auto’s Drifter-X. Holy God, those guys are good! I really need to get out onto the track soon… I’ve realized that I’ve kinda slowed down in my learning, so it’s making me really eager to get back onto the track. Since the last update, I’ve installed the passenger Cross seat… my car feels much less ghetto. Haha. Anyway, everybody drive safe…

Okay, so today I changed my exhaust manifold… I hope the nuts will hold on this time… I know I’ll be at high revs all day tomorrow. Also, I changed my rear brakes… I’ll try to break them in as much as I can between tonight and tomorrow’s event. I mounted some crapola tires on my gold SSR mesh, so those will be the designated drifting tires. Other than that, I bought some backup powersteering and waterpump belts (they are cracking), and maybe I’ll put in the new spark plugs tomorrow. There’s news that it may rain tomorrow… I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, since I’m trying to learn to drift at higher speeds, but either way, I think I’m ready for whatever decides to come. Hopefully I can get some video footage and pictures taken!! It sucks to drift my heart out all day and nobody sees it!!

Hey everybody. Happy New Years. Two things that need to be done on this webpage: a links page, and a ‘recent updates’ section. Went to Hollywood Park last weekend for the auto-x. Auto-x is a really strange but unique thing… I was understeering like MAD all day. Towards the end, I was starting to keep it under control, but man was it bad. I’ve heard that it’s my driving style, since I’m so used to driving at touge… the two are completely different! My girlfriend did pretty well too for her first time out on the track. Who would have thought that I’d have a girlfriend that is a 240sx nut. Not me, that’s for sure. So what’s next for my car… still want to get a racing seat and a good seatbelt harness. I haven’t really been looking very hard to tell you the truth. I think it’s because I’m not too thrilled on spending the money. PLUS, I need new suspension. My shocks are dead, and my tires rub the fenders really bad when I’m at touge.

Hopefully the board won’t be filled with questions asking how to smog an SR20DET. So lets see… what has happened since the last journal entry… I’ve been practicing my drifting a lot… everytime I do I get better. Right now I’m trying to drift at higher speeds. I wasn’t satisfied with the length of the drifts at lower speeds so I’m slowly increasing my speeds. Right now I’m at about 45mph in 2nd gear. It’s pretty hard, but I’m getting the hang of it.

I also need to get a racing seat and harnesses… right now I’m considering sabelt 4-pt harnesses because they are cheap, and as for seats… It is really important to sit in them for a while to make sure they fit you well… I’ve sat in 2 different adjustable Recaros (cheap) and a non adjustable Bride seat (30 minutes each seat). They both fit pretty well. I love the way the Bride holds me.

I have much more control now… even with my high grip tires in the rear (Potenza RE71 225/50/15) I was getting really sideways… and it wasnt very hard either. I will get good soon, I can feel it. It is so much easier to control the sidebrake drift than my usual clutch drifting. With more practice, I will be able to keep the drifts even longer than I have been… but it is kinda hard being the only one of us drifting with a high horsepower turbo car. Turbo lag sucks for drifting! Anyway, I am still at about 45mph in second gear, but with more control now. I am way more comfortable. Touge tonight… Merry Christmas everyone.

Some things I learned… executing 2 continuous drifts is very hard, a stock hachiroku can do amazing things, and I need to work on drifting at higher speeds. Anyway, it was fun. We got in like 2 hours worth of quality time.

I was in Irvine last night causing mass havoc on the peace of the city. I even spun out… on dry pavement. I’ve never done that before, but it goes to show that I need better control, especially while using skinny tires with so much horsepower. I’m glad my crappy tires in the rear are holding up.

Tomorrow is my car’s anniversary! Yay. I think I will have a romantic dinner with it facing the ocean. Well, I am hopefully going to get an LSD next week. I am still gathering parts to work on the steering and suspension. I want to do it all in one day. Also, I took down the other crap on this page. It is so out of date, and I am embarassed of it. So… for pictures and junk you guys will have to wait until I can get it up.

Oh well, I will be getting my first pay check this week, so things should look better for me. Sorry about the crappy picture on the splash page… I don’t want to waste film on my car, since it is always changing. I will get one up as soon as I put on my new front bumper.

Auto-X in Aneheim was fun yesterday. It was real close to my house, and I got to try some new tires… Potenza RE711′s! I got a decent time, but I was really driving way to slow. I should have pushed my car harder, but there was loose sand all over the track, and I kept understeering. I also need a new suspension set up… what I was running on was pretty bad. Also, I got some new wheels! They are gold 15×7 SSR formula mesh wheels with a +10 offset. There is a really nice polished lip on them. I am very happy. Also, I picked up a new bumper too… AB-Flug. It is a very popular bumper in Japan for drifters. Just gotta get it painted! Oh yea, I picked up a hollow cat too, from a ’94-up 240sx. The reason why it is hollow is b/c the s14 actually has its cat in the header… the cat after the header is actually a dummy one, just for visual inspection. I need some new tires up front for daily driving… I don’t want to waste my RE711′s on the public road. I’ll probably get another set of RE71′s. Those tires are great too. Any tire sponsors out there?? Drive safetly everybody.
