G35s Identity problem fixed for 2010 – kind of.

I love the heck out of my G35 sedan, but I feel like it has an identity problem.  It’s a luxury sport sedan.  It’s got an awesome engine that has torque for days, agile handling, a limited slip differential but with all the refinements of a luxury car – heated leather seats, navigation, award-winning Bose sound system, a HDD for music, backup camera, etc.  But what it’s missing is that it doesn’t LOOK like a luxury sport sedan.

I think Infiniti was trying to fix that with their 2010 update.  I’m glad they tried to make it look more sporty but I’m torn – now it looks too much like a cheaper Maxima or Altima.  I’m not sold on the new M37 design either.

Every company has always been trying to catch BMW. Infiniti, Lexus, Acura. None of them have ever come close to the segment BMW pretty much invented. Infiniti-nissan does a good job at making a car…the Infiniti product does everything good, not great.

I admit that BMW almost always designs a gorgeous car, but that’s not to say that they are the best cars out there.

I suppose its the risks BMW takes on their line. Some are massive hits, some not so much. And the fact they have turbos available for most models now…hehehe.

I’m down with turbo cars but only as long as they have LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIALS!
