Sampled – Isley Brothers
Ok I’m not a music expert or anything, but I like to find out who my favorite hip hop artists sample their music from. It’s like finding out who inspires someone great or finding out who your idol’s idols are.
Here’s one I realized today while perusing Imeem.
And here is the more obvious one… he made a classic out of a classic.

Youtube probably has the best online collection for those who aren’t DJs or “cratediggers”, though. I used to have access to alot of these old records but my DJ friend has his collection in storage.
