Here’s a clip from Video Option covering the latest D1GP at Ebisu Minami course. They go into depth about the new line entering the first corner and show some pretty amazing drifting.
It’s interesting to think back how long this course has been around for drifting and how much it’s changed as drifting style has changed. And all the while, it’s still the coolest course for drifting.
I was driving last weekend when I heard this big turbo diesel pull up next to me. I thought it was a big rig…. but nope. It was this huge bad ass toy hauler with a Ford F-750 badge. I looked it up – it can tow over 20,000 lbs!!! On a class C chassis? Yes please. Santa where are you – I’ve been good this year!
And yeah – it was towing that Chevy Silverado.

Man I can’t imagine what it would be like to drive this around towing both Nadine’s AND my drift car at the same time.
After watching Ken Block’s video yesterday, I’ve been in a rally kind of mood.
Here is another video I saw today of Travis Pastrana breaking a mountain climb record at Mt. Washington. Red Bull must have a viral video quota for all their drivers.
The first one was really cool, but mostly for the entertainment factor and not necessarily the level of skill displayed. This one leaves no doubt in my mind that Ken Block is a very talented driver.
I wonder how much it costs him in maintenance costs alone to do this type of video shoot. I bet he’s got to tear down the engine after a day of doing this.
