Wait a minute, I got that wrong.

Logan posted this youtube clip of a documentary about Eric Bana and his love for his car.  It’s called Love The Beast.

I got really excited and wanted to add it to my blockbuster queue, but surprise, surprise! Blockbuster doesn’t have it like Netflix does! Dangit, why haven’t I switched back to Netflix yet?

If you have Netflix, can you watch this for me?

So Nadine showed me this awesome site called pixlr.com that allows you to edit images via a flash application.  Translation: Do image editing work without using Photoshop!  They have a few photo editing apps on there, but I use Pixlr Editor.

I haven’t used it that much yet, but I have used it on my junky slow laptop that I wouldn’t dare install Photoshop on.  The interface is a lot like Photoshop.  Translation: It’s pretty much a blatant imitation of Photoshop.

For the light weight user who just does stuff for blogging, this is a really good option.  You can resize, crop, optimize for web, use the healing tool, magic wand, change levels, blur, vignette… awesome!

Something I do a lot is take screen captures, so I downloaded this plugin called Pixlr Grabber for my firefox browser that allows me to right click a website and open it directly in the image editor.

Nerdy side note: Something like this is super important to the web centric OS movement.  I really think that one day we’re all going to have web based operating systems like Google Chrome OS, and development of applications like these are essential to making that happen.

Fausto in Atlanta was just telling me that it’s snowing there.  And then I was reminded about the Midwest’s crazy icy weather.

I wonder what it’s like to be in that kind of weather… is it like going into the fridge naked?

I guess I’ll never know!!!  Here’s our weather today according to weather.com:

I was thinking maybe I should wear shorts tomorrow, but nah!  It’s too cold!

Oil Change

36,000 mile oil change @ West Covina Nissan.  Their waiting area has a huge glass wall so you can watch them change your oil.  I was in and out in 40 mins!

If you’re local, you should stop by… they have a special – $50 pays for 3 oil changes.  Sweet!

One of the companies that Nadine works with just released a new product that rivals roomba.  That beacon should make the robot way smarter!

British people always make a product sound more fancy.

Rob stayed over at my house for a few days last month and instead of bringing back awesome car parts for me, he brings me 3 cup o noodles. The 3 flavors I believe are chili tomato, kimchi, and curry cheese.

They’ve been sitting in my pantry because I don’t really eat cup o noodles very often. But yesterday I didn’t have anything to bring for my lunch so I brought this.

Here's one of 3... Chili Tomato.

The first thing I noticed was that these cups have more noodles inside than our domestic ones. It had a metallic lid which is better than our paper lids that always fall apart while the noodles are steaming inside.

After I let it cook for 3 mins, this is what it looked like. Those little pink things from the previous picture actually turned into tomatoes.

This was taken after stirring the noodles. The noodles look fatter don't they?

I noticed a weird seam on the outside of the styofoam cup. Then I realized that the cup was plastic inside and had styrofoam insulation wrapped around it. Way to prevent cancer you guys! Can we get some of that?

Oh I forgot to talk about how it tasted huh? Well it was pretty decent! But don’t get me wrong – it still tastes like instant food, just a tad better than what we get in the US. And the flavor chili tomato… it’s a tomato based soup… kind of like borscht, but with some sort of chili powder. It was pretty mild though, not strong tasting like the name suggests.

Conclusion: Although the taste wasn’t much better than the American stuff, the experience was better.  You can tell right away by the quality of the materials they use to make the container… everything feels better.  The Japanese have another product that we don’t have in the US. I’ll have to ask Rob how much each of these costs, because I would definitely pay a little more so that I wouldn’t be consuming melted styrofoam. But then again, I doubt I’m the target market for this stuff.
