Okay so I’ve had these awesome Ganador aero mirrors for my sileighty for maybe a year and a half now? When I got them, they were a sparkly blue… a lot like the Night Zone color except a little darker. And when I realized how much money I DIDN’T have, I left them on my shelf at home… Recently, I said… what the heck!!! Why are they just sitting there??? So I had my friend paint them for me (thank you!!!), and they are soooo pretty. I’ve pretty much had to just sit around and not put them on, because of the pretty bad rain lately. Today looks like it’s stopped, and as soon as I get home, I’m going to put them on! I’m so excited! I haven’t had this feeling in a while… being excited about doing something new to my car.

I’ve noticed how much my friend Steve loves his ae86. I mean, it’s not like somebody who is into the ae86 scene or who is into the drifting scene… he really LOVES his car. Everytime I see it, it’s different. He’s changed it somehow, but in a really good, meticulous, thoughtful way. And that’s why the car is so beautiful to me. I’ve been thinking… I’m totally not that way about my car. It’s always scratched, dented, banged up, leaking, dirty, messy… The car is just a car to me. It lets me drift and have fun, but I don’t love my car. I feel kinda bad, and I remember that I USED to feel that way about it. Lately, drifting has taken over, and has become the focus of my love for cars instead of the car itself. I think from now on I’m going to be more meticulous with my car, and appreciate it more. If I don’t compete this year, I’ll have much more time to spend staring at my car and thinking about it, since I won’t be driving and travelling so much. It will be nice… and much less hectic. Plus my car will be cool again! It’s time to find my style again… My car has been neglected and kinda looks weird and crappy right now.

Do you guys ever notice that there aren’t any 240sx freaks like there are ae86 freaks? I mean ae86 guys are OBSESSED. I wonder why? Maybe it’s because you have to totally be brain damaged to love an ae86. Hahah just kidding! I want one too! Or a Z32… Somebody give me more money!

Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! I had a great time last night, due to the fact that I’m living such a great life with Nadine and Kristy. Nadine and I were instructing and staffing at Drift Day last weekend (both days), and I had the chance to watch Nadine drift in 3rd gear, low angle, consistently, and she even learned to use the brakes when she was going too fast. I couldn’t ask for a better Valentine’s gift than that! I mean, come on… your girlfriend drifting better than mostly everybody on the track?? That’s awesome! She can figure out how to drift an entire track in a couple laps now… that, to me, is a huge step. Next is line and figuring out how make changes to go through the course faster. I’m excited!

I love to instruct… I was able to help so many people this past weekend, and the thing that made it all worth it to me was that people were thanking me at the end of the day for helping them learn so much. I guess the fact that I have so much fun drifting makes instructing so awesome… because I can help give somebody the joy that I get from drifting.

I drifted a 510 this weekend… remind me to never do that again. Hahaha! The lack of the rack and pinion made it so difficult… I mean, I got it to slide a few times, but it was just so hard, and I think I hurt myself haha! Thanks for letting me drive it Adam! Hiroo let me drift his E36 M3 and it was fun… but difficult. The steering was kind of funny and you can’t get much angle in the car… I guess you’d have to drive it a lot like a car with a short wheelbase. Alex was riding with me when I was drifting Naoki’s car and was talking soooooo much $#!t about my driving, and then I got out and let him drive instead, and he took out the entire sweeper’s cones and broke Naoki’s bumper off in the process. Hahaha!! Moded, you jerk!! Not to say that I didn’t break any cars though… Ed Loh let me drive his car and in the process his driveshaft snapped!! I kicked the clutch mid-drift and POP! It shot out the rear of the car and Hiroo brought it to us. That was insane… so poor Ed towed his car back to c-tune and got it replaced. It’s not really my fault that it snapped, but I felt really bad anyway, since he had to go through all the trouble to get it fixed. Sorry Ed!

Jonathan and Scott Oshiri, you guys rocked… you picked it up so fast! I hope to see you guys at more events! Let’s do tandem one day!

Went to the socal240sx.org 240sx meet on Saturday. These meets are really getting big… I remember the first time I went to the annual Shine Street meet, and we all fit in the parking lot! We don’t fit anymore, and all the cars have to park in the street, and the two neighboring parking lots. Alex was really nice and bought everybody pizza and drinks out of his own pocket. I made sure to let people know that they should give donations so that he wouldn’t be completely broke, but not enough people did, and I think he’s still over $100 short. Some people were VERY generous with their donations though! I didn’t really want to bring my car out to the meet, because it didn’t have a seat, the battery was dead, and it was soo dirty. But I got off my butt early in the morning and got it ready for the meet. I softened the shocks down to the softest setting and it was actually really nice to drive on the street. I didn’t mind at all, even with those nasty pot holes caused by all the rain. I’m not sure if I want to transfer all the parts from the sileighty to my new shell, or if I should just fix it, and sell the new shell for some extra money. It would be nice to drive my car more often again.

My internet is down at home so there’s not much updating that I can do. I’ve been pretty unhappy with the old BBS, because there’s a lot of problems with it… It seemed to never e-mail people when it should have. I’m not sure why. So this is what I’m doing… I’m going to program a BBS by myself! I’ve already got the database created, now I have to work on the rest. I’m sorry, it might take a while! But I’m going to invite certain people to use it and test it for me while I’m building out the rest. At first, I’ll send it to my close friends first. As soon as I’m comfortable with that, I’ll ask for people who want to be invited to use it, and they can also help me test while I’m programming it. I know, I know… boring computer nerd stuff. So Alex Chang, myself, and Nadine have been looking for sponsors for Formula D 2005. I know, it’s late… and it’s pretty difficult. But I’m doing my best to find what we can this late in the game… I don’t really care if I end up competing this year or not. Competing doesn’t mean anything to me, except that I get to drift and meet people in different parts of the country, and drift challenging courses against challenging competitors… I don’t ever get to drift that hard during practice, but I don’t know… I’m sure I’ll get my fix if I do that once or twice a year? We’ll just see. But for now I’m focused on finding us something. I’m going to have a meeting with a company soon. We’ll see how that works out.

Well, my BBS is now “fixed”. Haha! It has a temporary note up saying that it will be fixed later. Does that really mean that it’s fixed? No, but it’s better than giving errors. I’ll fix it later. Right now my new journal layout is almost finished. Give me a couple more days. As soon as that’s up, I’m going to work on the BBS. Do you think I should write my own BBS, or used that weird BBS software that I’ve been using? I kinda don’t like it… what do you think? This weekend was a mad house!

Eek! It looks like my BBS is messed up. The BBS has been dying off for the past few months… There are still a few people that love to post and read, and I pretty much just keep it up for them. I’m going to take a look at it and if it’s an easy fix, then perfect. If not, I’ve been dying to program my own BBS. That would be totally cool… and not to mention scary because I know it’s going to have bugs. I just got back from my first training session in San Diego with my new company. It was okay… but extremely lonely… and boring! It was nice to go do something without somebody saying, “hey do you drift?” The rear tires on my daily driver are just about gone… I’ve only been driving on them for a couple months! Considering how bad it’s been raining lately, I guess it’s time to put some ES100s on. Haha!
