I get home around 6:30p everyday, so the only way to get dinner on the table in a timely manner is by cooking what I can the night before.
It’s 10:30… now I can take a shower and watch a little TV before bed.
Ok here’s part 2… I’ll keep it short since last time I talked about the fancy cup and foil crap.
Conclusion: I wish there was more cheese! I know, the combination sounds wacky. But the Japanese are onto something here… I’ve had udon with mochi and cheese @ Sanuki No Sato and it was awesome! This wasn’t awesome, but it was still good. The soup tastes just like those Nong Shim bowl deals you see in the stores.
My friend Marc’s family is from Molokai. I often hear him tell people about what a jerk Andrew Zimmern is… but I’ve been saying that for years. Marc usually talks about how he saw Andrew Zimmern do an episode in Hawaii where he was repulsed by Spam. I shared this story with Logan because he likes pineapples and coconuts and fruit punch, and he readily had this link available to me within seconds – http://honolulu.metromix.com/events/blog_post/really-andrew-zimmern-really/728725/content
And then had this to say:
f**k that guy
he can choke on a dick musubi
Hahaha! I was laughing really hard… time to make another urban dictionary entry…
Rob stayed over at my house for a few days last month and instead of bringing back awesome car parts for me, he brings me 3 cup o noodles. The 3 flavors I believe are chili tomato, kimchi, and curry cheese.
They’ve been sitting in my pantry because I don’t really eat cup o noodles very often. But yesterday I didn’t have anything to bring for my lunch so I brought this.
Oh I forgot to talk about how it tasted huh? Well it was pretty decent! But don’t get me wrong – it still tastes like instant food, just a tad better than what we get in the US. And the flavor chili tomato… it’s a tomato based soup… kind of like borscht, but with some sort of chili powder. It was pretty mild though, not strong tasting like the name suggests.
Conclusion: Although the taste wasn’t much better than the American stuff, the experience was better. You can tell right away by the quality of the materials they use to make the container… everything feels better. The Japanese have another product that we don’t have in the US. I’ll have to ask Rob how much each of these costs, because I would definitely pay a little more so that I wouldn’t be consuming melted styrofoam. But then again, I doubt I’m the target market for this stuff.
Just found an awesome lunch joint across the street from my office! $6.99 for the lunch buffet, and everything I ate was good. They had some nice homemade corn tortillas too.
Cheese enchiladas, chile colorado, chili verde, sope, chicken fajitas, mexi rice and some kind of fish joint
I ate up my albondigas soup and realized I didn’t take a picture yet
Some guac, pico de gallo and some shrimp and krab ceviche
Yum!
